It was amazing! The eighth edition of the Ambacht in Beeld Festival was larger then ever, at a fantastic new location: the NDSM Loods in Amsterdam-Noord.
On September 24 and 25, the NDSM Loods was transformed into a large workshop, with workshops, masterclasses and demonstrations, exhibitions, tastings, vegan food and drinks, documentaries and much more. Thousands of visitors have experienced what it is like to make something with their hands.
We also mentioned the urgency. Manufacturing sites are disappearing from view due to urban policy and rising rents. The festival also serves a greater purpose: to make artisanal mastery visible, to achieve appreciation, and to facilitate new contacts. And that is what the Foundation Ambacht in Beeld is committed to.
