Furthermore, GASSAN is extremely proud to present the ultimate ‘mix & match jewelry’, called Choices by DL and the unique ‘more than brilliant’ cut ‘GASSAN 121’, both designed, developed and manufactured in-house.
In addition to diamond polishing, today’s core activity is to educate visitors from all over the world about the famous four C’s four C’s (carat, color, clarity, and cut) that come together to determine the ultimate value of each diamond. GASSAN has added a fifth C, to indicate Confidence. We like sharing our knowledge and passion by guiding our visitors through the magical world of diamonds. Family business
The founding father of GASSAN Diamonds, Samuel Gassan, died on July 4th, 1982 at the age of 73. His grandsons, Benno and Guy Leeser, became the new owners of the company. Benno married Kitty Weers, who also started working in the family business. David Bijlsma, Kitty Leeser’s son, joined GASSAN Schiphol in 1989. Benno and Kitty’s daughter, Debora Leeser, joined GASSAN Diamonds in 2005. As part of a business succession strategy, Benno Leeser acquired the shares of his brother Guy in 2011 and became the sole owner of the company.
Celebrating his 60th birthday in 2015, CEO Benno Leeser announced the transfer of the first 10% of the company’s shares. Debora Leeser and her half-brother David Bijlsma both received 5% of the shares as the first step in the process of transferring ownership of the company to the 4th generation. In 2013, GASSAN Diamonds was named the best family business in The Netherlands, a prestigious award from the Family Enterprise Foundation.
